At the Energy & Water Ombusman NSW (EWON), we love talking about energy and water with anyone who’ll listen. But we’re keen to reach the young’uns, and we’d love it if you can help us.
‘We’ve Got Your Back‘ is a campaign aimed at helping young people (18-25 year olds) across NSW who are engaging with the energy or water market for the first time. Youth today are smart cookies but they’re facing new challenges. They may be moving out of home for the first time, renting or frequently moving around, studying with limited income or government support and navigating new flat mate and landlord relationships.
Key campaign messages
Throughout the campaign, we’re sharing information tailored to young people, including:
- who EWON is, how we can help and what youth can complain about
- what to do if they have been threatened with disconnection
- their energy rights and responsibilities
- opening and closing accounts the right way
- paying bills and what to do if they receive a high bill.
We want young people to know, we’ve got their back, no matter their circumstances or what stage of life they’re at.
